Rinchenpong Monastery
The Rinchenpong monastery is located on the hill slopes of the village of Upper Rinchenpong. The history of the monastery dates back to 1730 AD when it was established. The monastery is unique for its rare “Adi- Buddha” statue.
Reshum Monastery
The 18th century monastery is located on the hilltop above Rinchenpong town. The monastery can only be reached by foot from Upper Rinchenpong or Kaluk.
Raami Dham
It is a place of worship of the Limboo community. Every year during Baishaki Poornima a special puja is organised at the temple. People from the nearby villages come together to participate in the puja. The temple was built in honour of Sant Gyan Dil Das, a saint from West Sikkim. The temple is located on the hill above the village of Upper Samdong and provides spectacular view of the villages & mountains.
Poison Lake
The lake is located amidst chestnut forest is 5 minutes down the road from Rinchenpong monastery. The lake holds a significant history since it played a pivotal role in driving back the British forces during 1860s. The lake which was the only source of water was poisoned by the local Lepcha people and thus it gets the name. At present the lake has dried up and there is a beautiful walking trail in the nearby forest.
Rabindra Smriti Ban
Rabindra Nath Tagore is believed to have visited Rinchenpong and stayed at the old British bungalow in the village. It is also said that he composed a section of his book Gitanjali during his stay at the bungalow. In his memory a forest area is developed as a garden and conservation efforts has been made by the local people to protect the nature.
British Bungalow
The old British cottage is located above Poison Lake. The beautiful cottage attracts tourists to see the architecture of British. Currently it is maintained by the PWD Department. The garden of the bungalow blooms during spring season with beautiful flowers.
Azing Farm House
This model organic farm house is famous for its homemade organic products like homey, wine, organic fruits. It is located at Haathidhunga village. Tourist visit the place to see the farm & organic method of cultivating fruits & vegetables.
Singshore Bridge
An hour drive from Kaluk & Rinchenpong brings you to the 2nd highest Suspension Bridge of Asia. It is located 109 metres above the Kaleej River.
